Time to Resolve Some Disputes

Okay guys, I know I'm pretty new here and you guys don't know me all that well, but I hear there's quite a bit going on that people aren't exactly happy with. I don't know who did what, exactly, but I figured this would be an orderly way for us to talk about it and resolve it fairly like mature individuals. So what all/who all is everyone having problems with? Don't be afraid to speak your mind.

Let's start with this...

I vote 'no' to Sora being the leader anymore... It's obvious that Neo has done a lot more for this forum then Sora. Then Sora is being too stubborn to try to change even though he say's that he'd try.

Okay, well, what's Sora been doing that's so aggravating?
And do other people feel the same way?

...Yes they do... We just had a looooong conversation about it...
And the fact that he won't accept characters to be transferred to another player is VERY annoying, hell it screws the plot if someone who's important retires and apparently "can't" be transferred even with the creators permission.

I apologize for not being present for that. I've been doing Physics II homework.
Did he give any reasoning as to why he doesn't want them transferred?

And why did this individual retire?

Besides that's always been the rule even though it's not written anywhere? That's just like saying "Because" and not giving an intelligent response... He didn't retire, he just quit because he decided Sora isn't the right leader for an RP. He said Neo could take over his chars and we could move on but apparently Sora doesn't like that

Well, it sounds like there needs to be a revision in the rules to include a circumstance like this one.
If the main focus of this forum is RPing, it seems like continuity would be extremely important to preserve. If the characters are that important, not to mention if the majority of the community would prefer to keep them in the story (presuming there are people willing to take them on and can handle having them in addition to the characters they already have), I see no reason as to why they couldn't be transferred.

No, that's not what I meant he said and I quote "Let's talk about it and then fix it" however that turned out to be hypocritical. I tried to talk about it, and he made no attempt to fix it.

Alright, well, I've been with Sora on a few different forums, so I know how he is. He's a really nice guy, sometimes he just gets caught up in things. He means well.
That being said, he seems to be fixated on doing things the way he's done them in the past, which is why he's been so difficult with you guys. This is more a matter of practicality than tradition, though.
Now, keep in mind, he started this forum. He deserves his admin title for that at the least, and he has been trying, even if things aren't going amazing. He does deserve some respect. Hopefully I can help mediate things between all of you guys, though. I'd hate to see this place go down over something like this that can be fixed.

From my perspective, this is how it happened(So you understand the background and make a logical decision):
Shin wanted to leave. I asked why. Shin listed alot of complaints, one of which criticized Sora's post.

Sora logged in and read it(Possibly taking it as offensive) and assumed me and Shin were disrespecting him behind his back(even though it was on the public chat).

Sora and Shin then had a debate revolving around the fact that we were talking behind his back. Sora then ended it with saying(not actual words)

Shin then left and with Shin leaving during the middle of a arc, his characters are now left with no player. Sora suggested his characters should be retired and everything involving them be removed too.

So there's the crux of what happened. Hell, I can't even tell what we were debating about.

Okay. I understand what's going on here.
Alright, for one:
No more of this "because I said so" stuff. The members of this community deserve to have ample reasoning behind decisions that affect them. It's just fair. If we're talking about respect, it needs to be mutual.

Two:
I can understand why Sora felt like he was being backstabbed. It's never fun when you feel like the people closest to you betray you. And unfortunately, Sora is a bit too familiar with that feeling, so please try to have some sympathy guys. If you guys have a problem with any mod or admin, please come to me about it. I think I've made it pretty clear I just want everything to run smoothly. Don't misunderstand, I'm not trying to take any sort of power or authority over the other admins. Everyone deserves respect, though. I feel as though I've made it clear that I'm in a position where I'm friends with Sora and he definitely has my favor, but I've also made it clear here that I have all of your best interest at heart. That being the case, I feel like I would be a good mediator for touchy situations like this.

Next:
I think we need to instill something along the lines of more specific written law. I feel like rules are being pulled on people that they had no idea even existed. We need to raise awareness. We are not the Police, we are not going to go around telling people that ignorance of obscure laws we don't make readily known is no excuse. Quite frankly, that sounds like a failure on our behalf, as admins. Not to say that every little thing will be written down, but some revisions do need to be made.

Lastly:
I think this forum needs to move a bit more towards the structure of a democracy. Admins are important to keep order and peace, but the focus here is the community. If the people aren't happy, things won't function (as we're seeing right now). I'm not recommending that we take away any admin/mod powers, just that I think we should all be a bit more open about problems, ideas, and whatever else is on your mind, like we are now (and we should be civil about it, like we are now, because emotional name-calling achieves absolutely nothing).

I'll toss my vote in now. This is my personal belief. You people haven't known sora as long as me. I used to live in the apartment under his and his wife's house and I know how he can tend to be. He gets mad. Then takes back all the stupid stuff he says. This whole fight wasn't needed but niether party is innocent. However if it doesn't end with things the way they were before this whole fight, I'll trash everyone involved. Or at least the people who won't let it go. Sora has not done anything wrong by being angry he is of course a human being with emotions like we all are. Lets face it if it seemed like someone was speaking ill of you behind your back or when you're not paying attention how would you react? And yes as Neji stated Sora has had alot of betrayals in his life. But you know what? He's not an irrational beast. In addition I'll give a little background about myself. I'm studying to be a pediatrician and I want to work in america because canadian doctors don't make alot of money. Some time early this year I wished he woudl die. He wished I would drop out of school. Now I did the smart thing and waited out the Anger. When I went to apologize to him he did the same and even taught me to speak spanish which is a majorly important language in the states from what I was told. But that's just an instance in where it's proven that he doesn't mean the things he says. How about when Zaki made comments against him. From what I understand as mad as Sora was he didn't say a thing to hurt Zaki and just accepted his apology without any anger.

He's not irrational.

Now leading to the next part of my argument. People complaining that Sora always gets his way. So far the only person that has been able to point out not getting their way over Sora's is Neo. Neo claimed he wanted characters Younger than 14. There's a logical explanation as to why characters younger than 14 can't attend Duel academy, Duel academy is a highschool and a student who is younger than 14 is a rarity in fact only one student in the whole GX series was a child and she was a genius duelist which lead to her transfer to the Duel academy. The Next is players being teachers. This is also logically justified because teachers have power over students. If a player makes a teacher character that player can act like he's above the other student characters. You can say that a rule can be made against it but more rules only complicates the matter. Mikey was allowed to have his Mikey Knight Jr. Character. Ruki got his way on shin's characters. The only person here not getting his end of the deal IS Sora. Neo also pointed out a map suggestion. If I look correctly he only denied it claiming that imagination is a more powerful map however at the end of that statement he also mentions that if Neo can find someone to make the map it wouldn't be denied any longer.

People need to actually do their Research before pointing fingers. Infact look at all the polls. How many have been closed by Sora? When has he insisted that the poles not be there because he doesn't want the people Voting? NONE. Infact he made a poll himself asking the voters what they think of a filler season. Shin said Sora is trying to be the main character of the story or whatever it was he said I only read that much before logging off to avoid conflict. But lets be serious here if Poll allows for 4 actions. One of those actions includes everyone running their own arcs implying everyone can be the main character of their own story. The claims that Sora is selfish, or a Dictator, or always gets his way are out of order and don't deserve a place in this Forum.

This whole fight could have been avoided if everyone just waited for him to calm down before "debating" anything with him and that's all there is to it. Poking an angry bear with a twig is less dangerous than poking a calm bear with a 50 foot pole. Common sense people.

So here I cast my vote for everything to continue as is with Sora as our leader. I will ask that some leeway is given for one of Neo's two denied Ideas as a symbol of peace and cooperation.
